What do you do?

vanhawrylakI am a Registrar in Sexual and Reproductive Health at University Hospitals Bristol. My particular area of interest is abortion care and I am currently continuing my research into VTE risk assessment within a Pregnancy Advisory Service. I am also a member of the British Society of Abortion Care Providers.

Which sessions are you eager to attend at congress in Budapest?

I am eager to attend the ‘LARC for adolescents’ lecture and hear which contraceptive strategies have improved LARC usage and continuation rates within this patient cohort. I am also interested to hear the findings of the ‘Virtual Contraceptive Consultation (ViC) online platform’ and how this distance learning could ensure that evidence-based and rights-based guidance is delivered.

Giovanni Grandi (Italy)

What do you do?

Giovanni Grandi was born in Modena (Italy) and graduated with honours in GrandiMedicine and Surgery in the university of the same city. He is currently an associate researcher and a gynaecologist in Modena. His main research topics are gynaecological endocrinology, the prevention of gynaecological cancers and oncogenetic counselling. He has published many papers as first author in peer-reviewed journals, being also constantly invited as a reviewer. In 2016 he was voted best reviewer for Obstetrics and Gynecology (The Green Journal). He was a member of the ESC Expert Group on Sexual Medicine and Sex Education from 2014-2016. Since 2016 he is an editor of The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care.

What do you do? 

Graduated from Ghent and Antwerp University (BeDeCortelgium), with Masters Degrees in resp. Pharmaceutical Sciences, with specialization in the area of drug development, and Epidemiology. Background in Drug safety and Pharmacovigilance. Currently working as Project Manager at ZEG (Center for Epidemiology and Health Research, Berlin). Current focus on conducting PASS (Post- Authorisation Safety Studies) studies in the field of contraceptive use among women using prospective observational designs.

What do you do?
Forsythe

I am a final year specialty trainee in Community Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare in Oxfordshire. I also have an interest in sex education and teaching and training within the field of sexual health.

Which session are you eager to attend at congress in Budapest?

I am excited to attend the "Male Contraception" session and the "Good peri-abortion care from a bio-psycho-social perspective".
