Aim
This is a workshop for professionals involved or interested in sexuality education (SE). It is meant as an introduction to the basic principles of SE, communication about sexuality and tools to be used in SE. We will provide a certificate of attendance to the participants. This workshop is limited to 40 participants maximum. The workshop is developed and will be delivered by the Expert Group on Sexuality and reproductive health and education. Workshop co-ordinator: O. Participants should be aware this workshop is meant as a first introduction to sexuality education. We would like to know more about the background of the participants, we therefore ask you to complete an application form where you should add your motive to register for this workshop. We will adapt the programme as much as possible.
Preliminary Scientific Programme
09:30 - 13:00 Morning session
Sexuality education and Communication
This will be a plenary session where different aspects of sexuality education will be discussed, such as the definition, principles, aims of sexuality education and skills involved in delivering sexuality education.
13:00 - 14:00 Lunch
14:00 - 17:00 Afternoon session
The group will be divided in small groups for different workshops:
- Contraception & STIs, myths and facts
- Doctor Patient communication–attitudes
- Methodical and didactic work with children and young people: tools
- ‘Hot bottom issues’/ controversial topics
17:00 - 17:30 Conclusion and take home messages
Registration
If you are interested in attending the pre-congress workshop “Let’s talk about sex”, please indicate this on the congress registration form. We will then send you an application form. The form can be downloaded here.
Aiming to have a heterogeneous group (knowledge and background) with participants from different countries, the organizers will first go through your application. Confirmation of participation will be sent soon after receipt of your application form.
Registration fee: 50 Euro
Participants will receive an invoice as soon as the participation has been confirmed by the organizers. Please inform us on your invoice address (if different from the address on the application form) and VAT number, if any.
